Beer, Bikes & Bands is an opportunity to share some bicycle love around the world while having a rollicking good time. Acting as an inner city collection point for Bicycles for Humanity, BB&B is asking you to donate unwanted bikes, (Check the Bicycles for Humanity link to see what sort of bikes are suitable) Besides a warm fuzzy feeling you will also go into the draw to win a cool refurbished vintage biks, totally unsuitable for Africa but perfectly suited to inner-city Melbourne.
A free beer from Littlle Creatures Brewing is provided on arrival and local favourite, the cycling, beer slinging Deano from the Good Brew will be there also as well as keen home brewer Matt Neumann, who will be selling his stylish, hand crafted beer – special edition FCE brews.
Fabulous music will be provided by Charlie Lim, The Lights, Phia, Hazel Boot and burlesque from Miss Kay Risque and there is also a Silent Auction
Bidding on goods for the auction will raise funds for the Final Continent Expedition (FCE). FCE is working to deliver a shipping container full of donated bikes to Katima Mulilo in Northeastern Namibia, Africa. The bikes will go to orphans and aid workers and the container will be made into a bike workshop; a sustainable business run by locals, for locals. It’s sustainable stuff with a track record to prove it.
Beer Bikes and Bands is on Sunday May 29th from 5pm at The Worker's Club, 51 Brunswick St, Fitzroy. Entry is $12
